My Newest Novel

I started out on the new novel, no name yet, like a house-a-fire, but then got stuck. The situation was terrific: Captain Bradley disappeared from his house with no explanation. He left no messages, and it appeared too well-organized for him to have been kidnapped.  However, once I got that story established, I got stuck. Where did he go? Why? Who was he? If he had been married to Nell for years and had two children, how could he have another identity?

Nancy Silverman suggested writing scenes from the point of view of other characters, and while I didn’t do that, I did write something from the point of view of Captain Bradley. And guess what? I got unstuck, but I’m not going to tell you what I did. You’ll have to read the book.
